The SMV type is a single stage, self-priming side channel pump in vertical installation with suction and discharge flanges on opposite side.
In addition to self-priming capability, side channel pumps have the advantage of working more economically against relatively high pressures with small flow rates due to their high pressure coefficient compared to conventional centrifugal pumps.
The seal to the atmosphere is occured by chambered O-rings. The pump shaft is supported by sleeve bearings.
The pump is equipped with a permanent magnet coupling, and the containment shell hermetically seals the conveying medium to the outside.
Heat generated by eddy current losses is dissipated through an internal circulation flow.
By directly mounting the drive motor, additional antifriction bearings and mechanical coupling are eliminated.
