STROBL’s SAP series pumps are horizontal self-priming centrifugal pumps built in compact block design. The motor shaft also functions as the pump shaft, with a single-stage impeller mounted directly. Custom versions with IEC motors and stub or flange shafts are also available. The raised suction port, together with the impeller chamber, forms a priming reservoir. Internal recirculation and a check valve at the suction port ensure reliable self-priming with suction lifts of up to 8 m. For media containing fibers, an optional cutter can be integrated upstream.
The fluid is drawn in axially above the shaft and discharged centrally through a radially aligned outlet. A single mechanical seal ensures sealing of the pump head. Flow rate and pressure depend on the pump curve, impeller geometry, and system losses and can be adjusted via speed control or bypass. Connections are threaded.
Performance data: heads up to 80 m (≈8 bar), flow rates up to 95 m³/h, viscosity up to 200 mPas, temperatures up to 120 °C, motor power from 0.55 to 11 kW, solids content up to 25% (particle sizes up to 50 mm depending on pump size). SAP pumps are ideal for clean or contaminated fluids, even abrasive or chemically aggressive ones. Their compact design and self-priming capability allow for installation on top of tanks, making them perfect for confined spaces such as machinery or marine systems.
Typical applications include tank emptying, plant engineering, shipbuilding, drainage, water treatment, and industrial processes. Seals are made of NBR, EPDM, PTFE, or FKM, with sliding faces in carbon A or silicon carbide. Available materials include cast iron, stainless steel, bronze, aluminium bronze, duplex, super duplex, and super austenitic alloys.
