Further specific requirements that hydrogen places on processes and plants mean
additional challenges for materials and control valve design. Due to the tiny size of the molecule, hydrogen can leak more easily than any other gas. Furthermore, it is highly explosive in mixtures of about 4 % or more in air. This requires sophisticated solutions and materials with the appropriate chemical and physical properties.
