Schmedding Engineering looks back on a long and successful history – while simultaneously remaining firmly focused on the future. Founded in Hamburg in 1930, the company developed from the outset into a reliable partner for industry. After relocating to Düsseldorf in 1952, the company entered a phase where consulting, planning, and sales of machinery and equipment for process engineering took center stage. Even then, it was clear: only those who combine innovative technology with professional expertise can offer their customers genuine added value.
Since 1996, our office has been located in the heart of Erkrath. Here, we work with modern equipment, short decision-making processes, and a strong team to develop customized solutions for our clients. Proximity to our partners in North Rhine-Westphalia is a crucial factor for us. It enables us to respond quickly and flexibly to requirements – whether in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food technology, or other areas of process engineering.
A significant milestone in our company history was the summer of 2014: That year, Schmedding Engineering became part of LEWA GmbH, a leading global supplier of metering pumps, process diaphragm pumps, and complete metering systems. Since then, our customers have benefited not only from our regional expertise and personalized consultation, but also from the combined know-how and innovative strength of an internationally successful group of companies.

Today, our team consists of six dedicated employees, four of whom work in the field. They are directly on-site with our customers, listen carefully, and find solutions that truly fit. The field team is supported by our efficient office organization in Erkrath, which keeps everything running smoothly. This structure guarantees short response times, personal contacts, and expert advice tailored to your needs.
