Technical gases are used in almost every sector of the economy and in a great many industrial processes. Aside from their application in filling and mixing gases, gas valves are used in medical technology, pharmaceuticals, the chemical industry, food technology
and in many other areas.

To be able to manufacture or use gases in high-quality processes one needs a reliable and high-performance technical processing plant that also satisfies the most demanding requirements in terms of economic efficiency.

Up until recently such gas plants mostly had to use valves with large pneumatic actuators to manage gas flows. Such valves have been in use for decades now, but due to their often very large size tend to take up a great deal of space in the plant layout. Aside from that,
to build complex gas processing plants one generally needs a large number of system components, such as valves, for example, which can increase the price of such a plant substantially.

WEH has developed a range of innovative high-pressure linear valves, capable of up to three functions in a single valve, for precisely this sort of application. Such multifunctional valves combine a shut-off valve together with other functions like automatic venting, check valve and block & bleed functionality.

Thanks to these functionalities, it is now possible to build plants for evacuating, filling and regulating gaseous media of all sorts extremely economically. On top of that, compact linear valves can be integrated into existing systems simply and easily. It is also possible
to integrate a variety of types of valves in the same construction space without having to make any modifications to the system piping.
As a result, the functioning of existing plants can be adjusted even after initial installation according to the changing needs of the customer.

Aside from their very compact and streamlined design, another big benefit is the extremely silent functioning of the WEH® TV17 High-pressure valves. These valves provide uniquely high flow values and are available either with pneumatic or manual
actuation. Their innovative design makes it easy to switch between functions even at very high pressures.
